DOI: 10.1016/S0946-672X (98)80028-X Abstract It is known that apoptosis is considered to be responsible for selective deletion of cells during embryogenesis, the homeostasis of cell populations in continuously renewing tissues (i.e., serving as a counterbalance to mitosis), and tissue involution in response to chemical or physical stimuli.

J.W. Spears, T.E. Engle, in Reference Module in Food Science, 2016 Abstract. Trace minerals are required for a number of biological processes in the body. At least eight trace minerals (cobalt, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, and zinc) are essential for cattle and a deficiency of any of these results in abnormalities such as reduced growth or milk …
Abstract. Melt inclusion data from primitive arc basalts from Mexico and Kamchatka show clear positive correlations of "fluid mobile element"/H 2 O ratios with the Cl/H 2 O ratio, suggesting that the trace element content of subduction zone fluids is strongly enhanced by complexing with chloride. This effect is observed for large-ion ...

Trace elements, sometimes in combination with major elements, have been used for tectonic discrimination of igneous rocks. Eight such diagrams (four of bivariate type: Ti/Y–Zr/Y; Zr–Zr/Y; Ti/1000–V; and Nb/Y–Ti/Y and four ternary: Zr–3Y–Ti/1000; Th–Ta–Hf/3; Zr/4–Y–2Nb; and La/10–Nb/8–Y/15) were objectively evaluated by Verma from a worldwide database of …

Abstract. Trace elements are characterized by concentrations lower than 1 mg L-1 in natural waters. This means that trace elements are not considered when "total dissolved solids" are calculated in rivers, lakes, or groundwaters, because their combined mass is not significant compared to the sum of Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, H4SiO4, HCO3-, CO32-, SO42-, Cl-, and NO3-.

Trace elements are essential micronutrients with various basic functions that take part in many physiological and biochemical processes. Most antioxidant reactions in the body depend on these trace elements that compose less than 0.01% of body weight [1,2,3].It has been reported that decreases in some of these trace element levels after cardiopulmonary …
